Mechanical Reasoning - Psychometric Glossary
Mechanical Reasoning specifically looks at mechanical operations (e.g. if an operator pushes down on a particular wedge here, in what way would the block of wood underneath move? Or if one turns screw A, what happens to the two pieces of wood B and C”) – This is used for roles involving these kind of mechanical or manual operations. Although it could be classed as inductive reasoning, it is generally categorised in a different class of test types as it applies to such a specific audience / industry.
