Item Response Theory (IRT) - Psychometric Glossary
A theory that outlines the method for designing, analysing, and scoring tests aimed at measuring a subject's aptitude, attitude or ability. The purpose of item response theory is to make testing more accurate and efficient. It also allows the use of sophisticated online test delivery mechanisms.
