Correlation - Psychometric Glossary
Defined as the relationship between two things, expressed as a number. Two identical things would be given a correlation of +1.0, to things that are not related at all would have a correlation of 0.0, and two completely opposite items would have a correlation of -1.0. In psychometrics, correlation is used to express the validity between a test and the criterion measure (usually job performance).
